Mount Toubkal Treks 2 Days

Winter season (Nov – Mar)
Winter can be quite cold on Mt Toubkal, with temperatures on the summit going as low as -20°C. March starts to warm up with a higher chance of rain.

Early/late season (Apr-May & Oct)
Temperatures at lower altitudes can reach 26°C, with little chance of rain. The summit can still go as low as -10°C with wind chill.

Summer (Jun-Sep)
June has a higher chance of rain but still stays warm. July to Sept are the hottest months with temperatures at the lowest altitudes reaching 30°C. The summit of Toubkal can be as low as -10°C with wind chill

Here are the documents and clothing/items you’ll need to bring:
Documents:

• 2 pairs of thick wool hiking socks
• Warm Gloves and Hat
• Walking Boots

• Large rucksack for the mules/porters
• Daysack (25-35L)
• 3L of water bottles (minimum)

• Glasses/contact lenses (if needed)
• Sleeping bag (2-3 seasons)
• Bathroom items including travel towel
• Electronics – Head torch, phone & charger

Most of that equipment can be rented locally in Imlil:
• Crampons : £5 / Day/pair
• Ice Axe : £3 /day
• Walking boots: £5 /day
• Sleeping bags: £ 2.5 /day
• Rain Jackets: £ 3 /day
• Walking Poles: £ 3 /day/pair
• Backpacks: £ 3/day
• Stoves: £ 2/day

The summit day can be 9-10 hours (with lots of breaks) so you do need a good level of fitness. We recommend training with jogging or sports 1-2 times a week, in the run-up to your trip.

The local guides utilize mules to transport your primary baggage, cooking equipment, and food are carried by the mule, leaving you to carry only a rucksack with whatever you need close at hand for the days.
NB: Left luggage or unnecessary luggage can be left safely in our storage in Imlil till you come back from the trek.

1st Night: The Accommodation will be in a Dorm at the Mountain hut. Camping is an option if preferred (June-Octo).

The meals served during the trek are prepared by the Berber muleteers and consist of fresh and healthy ingredients. A typical breakfast may include jam, bread, cookies, fruit, juice, butter, coffee, and milk. For lunch, you can expect a salad, tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta, fish (sardines, tuna), and seasonal fruit. Dinner often includes soup, classic Moroccan tajine, couscous, olives, nuts, and fruit.

Just inform us of your requirements when you confirm your booking, and we will ensure that your meals are prepared accordingly. Additionally, please remind your guide and cook of any dietary requirements on the first day of the trek to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
